The Romantica chair, designed by Philippe Starck and published by Driade between 1988 and 1993, has a sleek design, certainly accentuated by a monochrome appearance. On the other hand, a light design is revealed by a seat composed of a simple aluminum sheet. Nevertheless, Starck was keen to emphasize the assembly of his work by a structure composed of rivets. 

Moreover, this chair seems to have been thought by Starck as an aircraft structure. Perhaps he intends to pay tribute to his father, an aeronautical engineer, or to his own interest in aviation. In any case, it is clear that this piece has a technical and an industrial character, revealed by the shape, the color and the materials used.
