DESIGNER : Philippe Starck

Producer : Driade

This pair of Royalton chairs edited by Driade between 1991 and 1995 was designed by the French designer Philippe Starck for the Royalton Hotel located in New York, completely renovated in 1988 at the request of its director, Ian Schrager. This model furnishes the lobby, the lounges and the restaurant of the building. This major hotel project was an opportunity for the designer to express his creativity in his personal but also modern dimension.

Mahogany is the main material selected for part of the Royalton Hotel, as well as its furniture, including the Royalton chairs. This material is, in this context, the symbol of the American Navy, precious to the city of New York and its history
