DESIGNER : Philippe Starck

Producer : Disform

The Ray Noble shelf is the fruit of the reflection of the designer Philippe Starck in 1982. A first version was created thanks to the French editor VIA (Valorisation de l'Innovation dans l'Ameublement) and then caught the attention of Habitat in 1985. The tubular structure of the piece is organized around a central foot in epoxy steel topped by a decorative semi-circular ridge. The latter supports five shelves in natural median, varnished with polyurethane. The designer lends to his creation a certain balance and simplicity.

In order to promote the French creation, the Habitat sign in partnership with VIA launched in the 1980s a competition whose second prize was awarded to the Ray Noble library by Starck.
