DESIGNER : Philippe Starck

PRODUCER: Disform et 3 Suisses

This chair was designed by Philippe Starck in 1983. It was published in 1985 by Les 3 Suisses and Disform.

In the course of his research into folding furniture, Philippe Starck moves from rehabilitating function to aestheticizing it. The folding system is no longer hidden, but becomes an integral component of the piece. Folding lends a graphic dimension to the object, which stands on its own when folded, transforming it into a sculpture.
