DESIGNER : Philippe Starck

Producer : Driade

At the end of the 1980s, for the launch of a new beer, the president of the Japanese company "Asahi" asked Philippe Starck to design a demonstrative building for its headquarters in Tokyo. The French designer designed a black building, a little strange, topped by a golden flame. Despite his fears, his work was a great success.

It is thus in 1989 that the Asahi chair is drawn to furnish the interior, then from 1991 that it is published by Driade. There is also a bergère version.
