Wooden side table, Art Deco style, from the 1930s
Reference :
D1850
This wooden pedestal table is an Art Deco piece from the 1930s. It features superb marquetry and veneer work combining several types of wood. This side table has been restored.
Mahogany is used for the large triangles on the top surface and for the ‘sunburst’ veneer on the lower octagonal base. Burl wood is used for the central octagonal medallion on the top. Lemonwood is used for the marquetry bands separating the triangles on the top and for the light-coloured squares in the chequerboard pattern on the edge. Walnut is used for the dark squares in the chequerboard frieze along the edge of the top, as well as the upper section of the four column-like legs.
